Welcome to a better life. I'm here to meet you where you are and help you get to a better place: more resilience, more peace of mind, more balance. Here are some basic principles that will guide our work together:

Assessment. To treat the problem, we first have to know what it is. The ability to "put a name to your pain" is the first step in the healing process. I take the time to do a thorough assessment up front so that we know we're using the right treatment and aiming at the right target.
Evidence-based. I use assessment and treatment methods that are backed by research. It's hard to ask for help: once you take that first step, you deserve the most effective forms of treatment.
Collaborative. I'll be your advisor, sometimes your coach, but I will never be your boss. We are partners in this work, and my attitude will always reflect that.
Empathy. There is real power in feeling heard and understood. One of my core values as a therapist is to give you that.
Emotional safety. My most basic job is to create a safe haven for you to put your pain and struggles into words.
Confidentiality. If we work together, you're entrusting me with a lot. I'll honor your trust by keeping your information safe.
Directed. Our work will always be oriented toward your most important goals, and we'll measure our progress so that you know what you're getting out of this.

Anxiety
Anxiety is distracting at best, crippling at worst. You'll learn to "tame the beast" with specific skills and enhanced self-awareness to change the thought and behavior patterns behind anxiety.
Depression
Depression saps your hope, your joy, and your strength. Together, we will turn that around step by step. You'll be able to engage with life again, appreciate your own best qualities, and find joy.
Trauma
When you're traumatized by an event, recovery takes two things: courage and skill. It takes courage to reach out for help...I will guide you through the rest, using techniques that are proven to work.
ADHD Assessment
Attention and concentration problems can be caused by ADHD, but that isn't always the reason. I use an evidence-based set of assessment methods to either diagnose ADHD or rule it out, and I offer concrete suggestions in plain English to help you address the problem.
